Mary Washington’s Jordan Carpenter Collects C2C Women's Basketball Player of the Week Accolade

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the fourth week of the 2023 women's basketball season. Mary Washington senior Jordan Carpenter claimed C2C Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors.


WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jordan Carpenter, Mary Washington

In two games this week, senior wing Jordan Carpenter averaged 13.5 points-per-game with 9.5 boards. In No. 25 Mary Washington's victory over Southern Virginia on Tuesday, Carpenter scored 11 points and added eight rebounds and then followed it up with 16 points and 11 rebounds against Marymount in Saturday's victory. On the defensive end, Carpenter recorded eight steals -- five on Tuesday and three Saturday -- as well as four total blocks.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Christopher Newport's Alivia Giles scored a game-high 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting in just 16 minutes played at Haverford. She also grabbed five rebounds and added one steal while helping Christopher Newport improve to 8-0 on the season. The win marked the 34th consecutive road win for the Captains, dating back to December 2018… In Friday's contest for the Salisbury, Tori Rumbaugh provided six points while dishing out a team-high six assists and snagged three rebounds in a loss to Messiah. Then on Saturday versus Misericordia, she had a team-high nine points and three assists while grabbing another three rebounds… Pratt's Kylie Grant averaged 23.0 points and 12.5 rebounds over a two-game stretch, recording double-doubles in losses to Baruch and Centenary (NJ). It was her fourth straight double-double and fifth of the season. She now has scored in double-figures in 31 straight games going back to the 2021-22 season.
