Christopher Newport’s Hannah Kaloi Named C2C Women's Basketball Player of the Week

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the seventh week of the 2023-24 women's basketball season. Christopher Newport junior Hannah Kaloi captured C2C Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors.


WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hannah Kaloi, Christopher Newport

Kaloi took over the scoring lead for the Captains after leading the way for the nationally-ranked Captains over the last four games ... Averaged 14.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game... Has been tremendous from the free-throw line, knocking down 22-of-24 attempts from the line over the last four games (.917) and over 88 percent for the season with 30-of-34 ... Led Captains past nationally-ranked Whitman with 17 points ... In close loss to SUNY New Paltz, filled the stat sheet with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks ... Also finished in double figures against Stevens with 15 points and 8 rebounds.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

UC Santa Cruz's Ariel Anderson had team-high 16 points in win over previously undefeated Hamilton. Followed that up with 15 points, 9 rebounds and career-high 7 steals in game against UW-Platteville. Played 149 of 200 possible minutes of UC Santa Cruz's homestand over Christmas break, averaging 10.6 points, 7 rebounds and 2.4 steals… Alex Bull led Salisbury during this three-game span with an average of 11.3 points per game. In addition to her shooting, she averaged 3.7 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game. Bull was selected to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts during the Steel Club Classic… In Mary Washington's (8-4) two games in Puerto Rico last week, senior Jordan Carpenter recorded her ninth and 10th double-doubles as she averaged 17.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per-game, while shooting 55.6% on 27 total shots. The wing came away four steals (three against Rochester) and a block in the pair of games.
