Christopher Newport’s Alivia Giles Receives C2C Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the ninth week of the 2023-24 women's basketball season. Christopher Newport senior Alivia Giles claimed C2C Women's Basketball Player of the Week recognition.


WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Alivia Giles, Christopher Newport

Scored a career-high 28 points in a win against Marymount on Wednesday before adding a team-high 17 points in a road win at Salisbury on Saturday ... Averaged 22.5 points per game while shooting 58.6 percent from the field ... Added 7.5 rebounds per game including 11 against Marymount to record her third double-double of the season ... Also had four blocks, four assists, and three steals over the two games ... Scored 17 in just 20 minutes against Salisbury as CNU extended the NCAA's longest active road winning streak.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

On Saturday against No. 24 Washington & Lee, forward Sydney Sherman led Mary Washington in scoring with 23 points on seven made baskets. From the free throw line, the senior added nine points on 10 attempts. Sherman added four rebounds, and a team-leading three blocks and a pair of steals in the defeat… Hailey Ader led Salisbury with 10 points while adding five rebounds, two steals, and a block in loss to No. 5 CNU on Saturday, Jan. 13.
