Synapse Sports announced its Players of the Year and All-American teams and four members of the Salisbury University women's lacrosse team were honored for their outstanding 2012 seasons.

Junior Katie Bollhorst was named the 2012 Attacker Player of the Year and sophomore Ashton Wheatley was named 2012 Goalie of the Year. Bollhorst and Ashton Wheatley were also named First Team All-Americans, while junior Lauren Feusahrens was named a Second Team All-American and senior Allie Wheatley was named a Third Team All-American.

Bollhorst, the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year, led the Salisbury attack with 121 points, good for sixth in Division III and third on the Sea Gulls' all-time single-season list. The Severna Park, Md., native had 49 goals and 72 assists this season. The 72 assists ranked her third in the country this season and second on the Salisbury all-time single-season leaderboard. Bollhorst averaged 5.36 points per game, placing her 34th in the nation in that category.

Feusahrens netted a team-high 73 goals and added 26 assists. Her 73 goals were tied for 21st in Division III and were the fourth most goals scored by any player in maroon and gold in a single season. The Solomons Island, Md., native's 99 points placed her sixth on the single-season list at Salisbury.

Ashton Wheatley was the last line of defense for the nation's top-ranked scoring defense, which allowed only 5.00 goals per game – 1.35 goals per game lower than second-place The College of New Jersey. The Cambridge, Md., native stopped 114 shots this season for a .525 save percentage, good for 11th in the nation. Ashton Wheatley posted the lowest GAA of any Division III goalie this season, with a 5.75 GAA – more than half a goal lower than the second-ranked goalie. 

Allie Wheatley netted 57 goals this season, good for second on the team and added six assists. The senior finished her career with 151 goals, fourth most for any student-athlete to don a Sea Gull uniform in the program's 40-year history.

All four student-athletes were named to the IWLCA All-American teams, the IWLCA All-Region Team, the All-CAC Team and as a group, were named the CAC Player of the Week eight times.
