IWLCA All-America Team

A quartet of CAC women's lacrosse players have been honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association as All-Americans - York's Karlie Dougherty and Megan Strauch, and Salisbury's Megan Wallenhorst and Kara O'Rourke

Dougherty led the way as a first team selection, Wallenhorst was named to the second team, and O'Rourke and Strauch landed on the third team.

Dougherty becomes the first Spartan to earn IWLCA first team All-America honors. The 2015 CAC Player of the Year, the senior was a defensive stalwart for the Spartans. She played in and started all 21 games for the Green and White. She led the team with 66 draw controls, 45 ground balls, and 30 caused turnovers. Dougherty also scored three goals on seven shots throughout the year.

Strauch, a junior defender, collected 44 ground balls and 42 draw controls for the Green and White. Strauch forced 26 caused turnovers, scored two goals and handed out two assists. She ranks sixth in career ground balls with 113. She is seventh in draw controls (79) and fourth in caused turnovers with 68 as she still has another season in the Spartan green and white.

Wallenhorst, a junior attacker for the CAC Champion Sea Gulls, became a star on the offensive side of the field this season, breaking out as a scoring threat in the 2015 campaign to earn a spot on All-America second team. She totaled 53 points on the year with a team-high 34 goals along with 19 assists, good for second on the team. Playing in 17 games in 2015, Wallenhorst recorded points in all but two, including nine games with at least three. This is the first time Wallenhorst has earned All-America status.

O'Rourke, a senior attacker for Salisbury, was a force to be reckoned with from behind the net this season, sending out a career- and team-high 48 assists to land her on third team. It was a milestone to say the least, seeing the previous three years of her career with the Gulls total 39 helpers. The 48 assists places her 10th in the country in the category, while moving her into ninth in program history for a single season. In her career she registered 87 assists, good enough for seventh in program history. Competing in all 18 games for the Sea Gulls this season, the senior attacker recorded at least a point in every contest but one. This is the first time O'Rourke has been named an All-American.

The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association has honored 48 student-athletes with a selection on the IWLCA Division III All-America teams for 2015. The IWLCA will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA All-American banquet on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge in King Prussia, Pa.
