CNU’s Winters, Chadwick Collect C2C Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week Awards

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 11th week of the 2024 women's lacrosse season. Christopher Newport's Kelsey Winters earned C2C Offensive Player of the Week honors, while the Captains Hadley Chadwick claimed C2C Defensive Player of the Week distinction.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kelsey Winters, Christopher Newport

Kelsey Winters netted seven points during CNU's 13-7 victory over Mary Washington on Saturday. In the squad's lone appearance of the week, she registered six assists. That was her fourth straight appearance with at least five helpers, marking the longest streak in school history. After the Eagles cut their deficit to one at the end of the first quarter, she assisted on back-to-back strikes at the start of the second, which helped give the Captains a comfortable lead they would never relinquish. Along with her work as a facilitator, she also added a goal in the second half to help lock up the win.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hadley Chadwick, Christopher Newport

Hadley Chadwick notched her first double-digit save effort of the season during CNU's 13-7 triumph over Mary Washington on Saturday. Against the Eagles, she pocketed 10 saves, including three on free-position attempts. Saving her finest work for the fourth quarter, she notched four stops over the final 15 minutes, including two of her eight-meter rejections. Along with her work between the pipes, she collected two ground balls and added her first caused turnover of the season with an interception in the 50th minute.

HONORABLE MENTION

OFFENSE: Bridget Crowley, Mary Washington

DEFENSE: Meridith Price, Salisbury

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Mary Washington senior Bridget Crowley had a big week for the Eagles, who finished 1-1 in two matches. She registered a goal and five assists in an 18-6 win over Meredith, and then scored a goal and four assists in a 13-7 loss at Christopher Newport. She has posted career highs of 20 goals and 25 assists this season… Meridith Price did it all for fifth-ranked Salisbury on Wednesday, tallying three draw controls and a trio of forced miscues while also posting a pair of points with one goal and one helper against the St. Mary's (Md.)
