Frostburg State Travels To Lynchburg For A First-Round Clash In The 2012 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament
The Frostburg State University women's soccer team found out its
destination for the 2012 NCAA Tournament first round and the
Bobcats will travel to Lynchburg for a match on Saturday, Nov. 10.
The time for the match will be determined later this week.
The Bobcats, making their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since
2009 and seventh overall, enter the tournament with a 14-3-2 mark.
FSU earned the Capital Athletic Conference's automatic bid to the
tournament by defeating Salisbury, 4-3, in a penalty kick shootout
in the championship game on Saturday.
The Hornets, who will host the first and second round, are one of
just three schools in the NCAA Tournament with an undefeated record
at 19-0-3. Lynchburg advanced to the NCAA Tournament via its
third-consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC)
Tournament title. The Hornets are currently ranked seventh in the
most recent NSCAA National poll.
The Bobcats are red hot entering the weekend having posted a 6-0-1
record over the final seven games of the season. FSU has outscored
its opponents 23-3 during that stretch with four shutouts and
haven't suffered a loss since the first Saturday in October.
The meeting between Frostburg State and Lynchburg will be the first
between the two schools.
