Salisbury's Brown & St. Mary's Litynski Claim CAC Swimmer of the Week Recognition

CAC -- The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) has announced its ninth weekly awards of the 2019-20 season. Salisbury senior Josh Brown earned CAC Men's Swimmer of the Week accolades, while St. Mary's junior Brenna Litynski claimed CAC Women's Swimmer of the Week honors.


MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Josh Brown - Salisbury

Salisbury senior Josh Brown led the Sea Gulls with two first-place finishes in the one-point win over St. Mary's. Brown swam and earned first in the 50-yard free (21.58) and the 100-yard fly (54.59). He was also apart of the 200-yard medley relay team that earned first with a time of 1:39.48.


WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Brenna Litynski - St. Mary's (Md.)

St. Mary's junior Brenna Litynski won two events to help the Seahawks capture a 112-87 victory over Salisbury on Saturday (Jan. 25). Litynski swam a time of 1:59.08 to capture a first-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Litynski won her second event of the afternoon when she swam a time of 54.86 in the 100 Yard Freestyle.

LEAGUE NOTES

York junior Jake Halem concluded his regular season with his team-leading 10 individual win of the year as he was victorious in the 200 IM in the tri-meet sweep at Messiah. Halem touched the wall in a time of 1:58.15 to set a new pool record at Messiah. He was also a part of the winning 200 medley relay team as the foursome posted a winning time of 1:38.84...Senior Justine Wantz capped her regular season with a pair of individual wins and was also a part of two relay wins in Saturday's sweep of a tri-match at Messiah. Wantz won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.12 and followed that with a win in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:11.79. Wantz swam leadoff in the 200 medley relay as the Spartans posted a winning time of 1:52.80. She then swam leadoff for the winning 200 free relay as they finished with a time of 1:43.25...Southern Virginia freshman Connor Moore's shined for the Knights against Ferrum and Lynchburg. He was the lone Southern Virginia swimmer to earn multiple victories, winning the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:25.58 and then in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:14.29. He added a win in the opening relay in the 400 medley as the team posted a time of 3:49.63. Moore also added a second-place finish in the 200 yard IM recording a time of 2:09.8...Mary Washington senior Noah Carpenter earned a first place finish in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:16.26 in a home meet against Gettysburg. Carpenter also had two second place finishes in both the 1000 freestyle and 200 breaststroke...Mary Washington senior Julia Geskey claimed two victories in a meet against Gettysburg. Geskey won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.57 and then claimed first in the 500 yard freestyle as she touched in at 5:17.92....Salisbury freshman Teagan Rohrbaugh earned first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.36) while also earning second in the 200-yard IM (2:22.60). Teagan also swam in the 200-yard medley that placed second with a time of 1:56.84...
