Mary Washington Downs Salisbury, 9-0, To Win Its 8th-Straight CAC Women's Tennis Title

The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team swept Salisbury University, 9-0, to win the 2011 Capital Athletic Conference championship on Friday evening at the UMW Indoor Tennis Center.

The Eagles, winners of the past eight CAC championships, will advance to the NCAA Tournament for the 23rd time, which is tied for the second-most of any program in Division III history.

On Friday, the Eagles won all three doubles matches, by 8-4, 8-4, and 8-3 scores, before sweeping all six singles flights in straight sets. UMW improves to 16-8 on the season.
