2024 C2C Women's Tennis Awards and All-Conference Teams Named
The 2024 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Women's Tennis Awards and All-Conference Teams have been announced:
Player of the Year: Raine Weis - Christopher Newport
Weis headlined the awards for the second time (2022). She is 12-7 overall with a 10-5 mark at No. 1 singles. Weis is currently ranked fourth in the NCAA regional singles rankings. She was also the C2C rookie of the year in 2022.
Doubles Team of the Year: Tessa Trate / Raine Weis - Christopher Newport
Trate and Weis are 16-4 overall and 13-3 at the top line for the Captains. The duo is ranked second regionally for the NCAA. Trate was also part of the league's top doubles team in 2021.
Rookie of the Year: Gibelle Beaujon – Salisbury
Beaujon is 11-3 overall at No. 1 singles, and 10-6 for the Sea Gulls top doubles team in her first year.
Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Tessa Trate - Christopher Newport
Trate, a psychology major with minors in business administration and leadership studies, claimed another individual honor. She was part of the C2C doubles team of the year this season and was the rookie of the year in 2021. Trate has a 10-6 mark in singles and is 16-4 in doubles play.
Coaching Staff of the Year: David Weiner - Christopher Newport
Weiner took home coach of the year distinction for the first time. This is his seventh season at the helm for the Captains, who are the top seed in this year's championship.
