Salisbury Names Justin Turco Head Volleyball Coach

Salisbury University Director of Athletics and Recreation Dr. Michael Vienna announced on Friday that the University has hired Justin Turco as the new Head Volleyball Coach, becoming the 13th head coach in program history.

Turco comes to Salisbury having spent the past two seasons at Trinity College (Conn.), where he served as assistant volleyball and softball coach. Over the past two seasons, the Bantams' volleyball program has put together a 31-20 overall record, and advanced to the New England Small Colleges Athletic Conference tournament semifinals in 2011.

Prior to his stint in Hartford, Turco served as an assistant coach with Hamilton College and spent three years coaching high school and collegiate club volleyball in Southern California.

A 2007 graduate of the University of Vermont, Turco played club volleyball for the Catamounts for four years, including serving as president of the club. He earned his bachelor's degree in political science and is currently pursuing a master's degree in American studies at Trinity.

Turco takes over a program which has won eight Capital Athletic Conference tournament championships and advanced to the NCAA tournament eight times. In 2012, the program made its deepest run into the NCAA tournament, advancing to the quarterfinal round.
