Pratt’s Julich, Salisbury’s Rail Named C2C Women's Volleyball Players of the Week

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the ninth week of the 2023 women's volleyball season. Pratt's Olivia Julich was tabbed C2C Offensive Player of the Week, while Salisbury's Grace Rail earned C2C Defensive Player of the Week acclaim.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Olivia Julich, Pratt

Julich slammed a career-high 20 kills to lead Pratt to a five-set victory over Sarah Lawrence to split the week's matches. On the week, she averaged 3.75 kills per set on .237 hitting.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Grace Rail, Salisbury

Grace Rail chased down 37 digs (6.17 per set) in the Sea Gulls' games against NYU and Christopher Newport. Against CNU, she notched 18 digs to help SU sweep the season series against the Captains.


HONORABLE MENTION

OFFENSIVE: Kiley McTaggart, Salisbury; Emma Hadley, Mary Washington; Emma White, Mount Mary

DEFENSIVE: Jordan Lyons, Mary Washington; Brianna Ecker, Mount Mary


C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Kiley McTaggart notched 18 kills (3.00 K/S) on a .231 swing percentage in Salisbury's two matches against NYU and Christopher Newport. Against NYU, she hammered down 11 kills at a

.286 clip… Senior middle hitter Emma Hadley posted a .406 hitting average this week in Mary Washington's two matches. She scored nine kills against one error in 20 attempts in the Eagles' 3-2 loss to #5 Emory and added five kills and no errors in 12 attempts in a 3-0 win at Averett. In addition, she posted seven total blocks in the two matches… In two matches, Mount Mary's Emma White recorded 34 assists, 19 kills, and 27 digs - including a "triple double" in the 3-2 loss to Maranatha Baptist… Senior Jordan Lyons led #22 Mary Washington this weekend, as the Eagles swept Averett, 3-0, and fell to #5 Emory in five sets. In all, Lyons scored five block assists, 29 digs, and 75 receptions in the pair of matches. She also led UMW with 18 kills against Emory… Mount Mary's Brianna Ecker had 21 digs and 19 kills to eclipse the milestone of 1,000 career kills in the 3-2 loss to Maranatha Baptist.  She is now the program's all-time leader in points, digs and kills.
