Mary Washington’s Crosen, Burch Sweep C2C Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 10th week of the 2023 women's volleyball season. Mary Washington's Chloe Crosen received C2C Offensive Player of the Week honors, while the Eagles Caitlyn Burch claimed C2C Defensive Player of the Week distinction.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chloe Crosen, Mary Washington

Junior Chloe Crosen posted a .410 hitting average this week as #22 Mary Washington swept five matches with 3-0 scores. Crosen connected for 29 kills in four matches, against just three errors in 61 attempts. He top performance was nine kills and no errors in 18 attempts in a win over Centre, and seven kills without an error in 12 attempts over Susquehanna.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Caitlyn Burch, Mary Washington

Senior Caitlyn Burch led #22 Mary Washington to five 3-0 victories this week, posting 11 solo blocks and 12 block assists for the week (1.53 BPG), including eight solo blocks in a win over Christopher Newport. She also hit. .403 with 35 kills in five matches. She committed eight errors in 67 attempts. Her top performance included 10 kills in 17 attempts in a win over Susquehanna

DEFENSIVE: Grace Rail, Salisbury; Alyssa Dozier, Christopher Newport


C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Gwen Eustace hammered down 25 kills in Salisbury's tri-match victories over Catholic and Ferrum on Saturday, swinging .435 over the two matches. Against Catholic, Eustace landed 16 kills and swung .406 in addition to totaling six blocks. Against Ferrum, she notched nine kills and swung .500… Christopher Newport's Noelle Starr served five aces in three matches this weekend...served three aces against Centre and two in a three-set win over Susquehanna...Added 56 digs and was a perfect 37-0 in serve receive...Assisted on 7 kills…

Grace Rail chased down 46 digs across Salisbury's tri-match victories against Catholic and Ferrum on Saturday. Against Catholic she notched 27 digs in a five-set win, while she tallied 19 digs in a three-set sweep against Ferrum… Alyssa Dozier totaled six blocks for Christopher Newport in three matches over the weekend, including four solo blocks...Registered two solo blocks and and a block assist against Mary Washington...Added 28 kills, including 13 against Centre.
