Christopher Newport senior Matt DiSalvo earned CAC Golfer of the Week after finishing second at the Bay Creek Invitational and tying for fourth at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational. DiSalvo posted his first under-par round of the season in the first round of the Royal Lakes Invite, shooting a two-under 70. He followed that up with a one-over 73 on day two, including two eagles, on his way to a tie for fourth place. At the Bay Creek Invitational, DiSalvo fired rounds of 76-74 to help the Captains to the team title. DiSalvo leads the CAC in scoring average so far this season at 74.5 strokes per round.

Penn State Harrisburg holds the lowest team scoring average so far this fall, averaging 306.8 strokes per round throughout six rounds, followed by CNU (309.0) and York (309.1) ... At the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational, CNU finished with the best second round score in the two-day tournament, firing a four-over 292 ... In a fall preview of the 2016 CAC Golf Championship, CNU senior Patrick Johnson and the Captains edged York by eight strokes to claim the team crown on Sept. 29 at the Bay Creek Invitational in Cape Charles, Va. ... All five CAC full-member institutions with golf programs competed in the championship preview. Bay Creek will host the CAC Championship for the next three years, beginning this spring from April 15-17. The 2016 CAC Championship will feature a three-round tournament for the first time ever ... Led by Johnson's two-day total of four-over-par 148 (74-74), CNU took three of the top four individual placings and totaled 619 strokes to defeat York by eight ... Marymount's Erik Timlin (77-78) and Penn State Harrisburg's Tyler Massar (74-81) led their respective squads at Bay Creek as each finished at 11-over 155 in a tie for fifth ... York's Ryan Wolbach tied for seventh at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Invitational at the Bridges Golf Club last week, shooting 148 with matching 74's each day. Wolbach also led the Spartans at the Bay Creek Invitational, tying for third at 153 (79-74).
