YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport senior Jimmy Grace and St. Mary's junior Zack Haussler nabbed CAC Men's Soccer weekly honors for Sept. 19, 2016.  

Offensive Player of the Week

Christopher Newport senior Jimmy Grace was selected as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after factoring into four of the Captains nine goals last week, including the game-winning score at 11th-ranked Redlands. Grace registered at least a goal or an assist in each of CNU's three contests in a 2-1 week. He opened the week with an assist in a 4-0 win against Methodist, and knocked in the game-winner vs. Redlands in the 79th minute. He added a goal and an assist in the Captains' first loss of the year vs. Chapman.

St. Mary's junior Zack Haussler received CAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades for the second straight week after recording a season-best eight saves in a 1-0 shutout victory over Catholic last week.

Christopher Newport jumped from unranked to No. 8 in the Sept. 13 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) rankings ... St. Mary's (6-0-1) is the lone unbeaten in the CAC, while CNU (6-1), Mary Washington (5-1), Penn State Harrisburg (5-2) and Salisbury (3-1-1) boast winning records ... Frostburg State scooted to wins over Penn State Altoona and Washington & Jefferson last week, led by two goals and one assist from freshman Josh McRobie ... Mary Washington senior Mitchell Williams played a hand in both Eagles' goals in a 2-1 overtime win at Roanoke on Saturday night in Salem. The Blacksburg native set up UMW's first goal with an assist, and then provided the game-winner 2:30 into overtime with a direct free kick that was placed perfectly over the keeper and inside the far post ... Marymount's Rodney Ngoh scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Shenandoah, a header finish off a clean cross by freshman Michael Ku-Dipietro ... Nick Tait helped St. Mary's stretch its unbeaten streak to seven games as he tallied an assist before scoring the game-winning goal in the 59th minute ... Salisbury's Dolph Hegewisch scored the game-winner against Washington College, upping his season point total to five. Colby Fell notched an assist in each game of a 1-1 week for the Sea Gulls ... Wesley defeated Cairn 4-0 in its lone game of the week. Matt Waldron scored twice for the Wolverines while goalkeeper Kyle Springsteen made eight saves.
