St. Mary's Senior Grant Burgess Nabs Men's Swimming Weekly Accolades

St. Mary's senior Grant Burgess was named the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week after capturing three first-place finishes and a school record in the regular-season finale win over Salisbury. Burgess won the 1,000 freestyle in his first event of the meet, coming in with a time of 9:59.13. His time set the school record, breaking the mark of 10:00.82 set by Billy DeBoissiere in 2011.

York Senior Kyle Walthall Secures CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week for Second Straight Week

York senior Kyle Walthall was named the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after breaking a pool record and winning six events in a 2-0 week for the Spartans. Walthall began the week with two individual victories against Messiah. He broke the York pool record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 56.72, the top time in the nation this year, and also claimed first in the 200 IM. In a win over Washington & Jefferson, he captured first place in the 200 freestyle, 50 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and contributed to the winning 200 medley relay team.

March remains undefeated in both the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. His top time of 59.60 in the 100 breaststroke ranks 19th in the nation.
