YORK, Pa. -- Wesley junior Dominic McAnulty and York senior Alex Palescandolo were selected as the CAC Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Jan. 26, 2016.

Wesley junior Dominic McAnulty was chosen as the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after racing to the fastest time in Division III in the 400 meters at the NYC Gotham Cup. McAnulty crossed in a time of 48.71, converted to 49.49 due to the size of the track. In addition to setting the fastest time nationally this season, his mark also broke the Wesley school record. 

Field Athlete of the Week

York senior Alex Palescandolo was awarded as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after winning the shot put at the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus last Friday. Palescandolo captured top honors in the shot put with a toss of 48'-09", which was more than five feet better than the rest of the field. It is the second time this year he has won a shot put competition as he was victorious at the Bow Tie Classic on Dec. 5 at Ursinus.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Four CAC teams competed last week as several squads had to cancel trips due to Winter Storm Jonas ... Christopher Newport hosted the Captains Invitational & Combined Events at the Freeman Center. Ryan Scott posted a pair of top-15 national efforts, placing second overall and first among Division III competitors in the 200 (22.53) and fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.36). His 200 time ranks 10th in the NCAA while his 60 hurdles time is 15th. Additionally, Scott led all Division III competitors in the 60-meters with a time of 7.02, which ranks 29th in the nation ... Penn State Harrisburg's Vladhimir Theophile helped the men's 4x400 meter relay team come in second place at the Susquehanna Orange and Maroon Classic with an ECAC Championship qualifying time. Individually, Theophile took first place in the 400 meters ... York's Darnell Tillman finished second in the 200 meter dash at Ursinus with a time of 22.57. His time ranks 12th in the nation.
