Frostburg State's J.R. Lowery, St. Mary's Tim Carey and Salisbury's Thomas Burke were named to the Capital One Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, announced on Friday afternoon.

Long-time University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country and track and field coach Stan Soper has announced his retirement effective at the conclusion of the 2015 track and field season. Soper, one of the most respected and admired coaches at any level of NCAA athletics, retires after 41 years of teaching and coaching, including 31 at Mary Washington, making him the longest tenured coach in school history.

Christopher Newport placed fourth at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional to highlight the CAC men's cross country teams performances at regional championships on Saturday. CNU and Mary Washington competed at the South/Southeast Regional in Rome, Ga., while Salisbury, York, St. Mary's, Frostburg State and Penn State Harrisburg competed at the Mideast Regional in Newville, Pa.
