YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury junior LeAnne Collins and Wesley senior Lindsay Siok were awarded as the CAC Softball Players of the Week for March 13, 2017.

Salisbury junior LeAnne Collins received CAC Player of the Week honors after hitting .636 in six games last week, notching 14 hits including seven extra-base knocks. Batting from the leadoff spot, she registered at least one hit in all six contests and totaled 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored in a 4-2 week for the Sea Gulls. Collins posted four triples, one home run, and one double on her way to a 1.227 slugging percentage. On Sunday, she hit for the cycle in a 9-2 win against SUNY New Paltz, with the home run being an in-the-park homer for her round-tripper of the season.

Wesley senior Lindsay Siok received CAC Pitcher of the Week honors after going 3-1 with a 1.17 ERA during the Wolverines spring break trip. Siok totaled 24.0 innings in her four outings, surrending just four earned runs and walking two while recording 15 strikeouts. Her top performance was a complete-game shutout of Ursinus with six strikeouts. Siok is tied for the CAC lead in wins (6), second in strikeouts (31) and tied for the fifth-lowest ERA (1.50).

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

In the NFCA March 8 rankings, Christopher Newport is ranked No. 10 ... CNU split its doubleheader with No. 6 Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday, taking game one 4-3 before falling 10-8 in game two. Freshman Grace Wild drove in the game-winning run with an eighth-inning double to beat the previously-unbeaten Marlins. Freshman pitcher Aubrey Bates is now 5-0 on the year after going the distance in an eight-inning win over the Marlins, striking out four. The Captains are 11-3 on the year ... Mary Washington junior Caroline Callahan batted .579 last week, as the Eagles won seven of eight games in Myrtle Beach, the last of which was the 500th win in coach Dee Conway's career. Included in Callahan's tallies was a five-hit game against Wentworth Tech. She scored 10 runs, as the Eagles improved to 11-5 on the season. She added three hits against Randolph ... Salisbury junior pitcher Rachael Milligan picked up two wins last week, tossing two complete games and striking out nine over 16 innings ... Southern Virginia's Mollie Gabbert recorded her first home run of the season last week. She led the Knights with a .400 average last week ... Wesley's Nina Marcano went 12-for-26 with two homers, a double, and three triples in Myrtle Beach last week, helping the Wolverines to a 6-2 week. She reached base at a .448 clip and slugged .962, and hit a walk-off three-run homer against Hilbert.
