The IWLCA held its All-American banquet Saturday night and the goalkeeper with the lowest goals-against average across any level of women's lacrosse, Salisbury University sophomore Ashton Wheatley, was named the C. Markland Kelly Division III Goalie of the Year.

Synapse Sports announced its Players of the Year and All-American teams and four members of the Salisbury University women's lacrosse team were honored for their outstanding 2012 seasons. Junior Katie Bollhorst was named the 2012 Attacker Player of the Year and sophomore Ashton Wheatley was named 2012 Goalie of the Year. Bollhorst and Ashton Wheatley were also named First Team All-Americans, while junior Lauren Feusahrens was named a Second Team All-American and senior Allie Wheatley was named a Third Team All-American.

The No. 1 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team, trying to cap off an undefeated run, fell short of that goal with an 8-7 loss against Trinity (Conn.) College Sunday afternoon. The Sea Gulls were trying to become the first team in the program's 40-year history to finish off the season undefeated and bring a second national championship back to the Eastern Shore.

The No. 1 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team is one step away from reaching its season goal, as its advanced to the NCAA Division III women's lacrosse national championship game with a 15-7 win over No. 6 Middlebury College Saturday afternoon. With the win today, the Sea Gulls will make the program's fifth appearance in the title game and remain the only undefeated team on any level of NCAA women's lacrosse.

All-America senior midfielder Catherine Kennedy scored five goals and added three assists to lead the 11th ranked University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team to a 16-8 victory over #14 Washington & Lee University on Wednesday. In other first-round action, 9th-ranked York dropped a 14-13 decision at Montclair State and finished its record-setting season with a 14-5 mark.

Salisbury junior attack Katie Bollhorst (Severna Park, Md./St. Mary’s) was selected as the Player of the Year and was one of seven conference champion Sea Gulls named to the 2012 All-CAC Women’s Lacrosse team. Bollhorst, a first-time All-CAC honoree, is the ninth Salisbury player to be named Player of the Year and the sixth in the last eight years.
