Frostburg State senior Macey Nitchie was tabbed as the CAC Athlete of the Week after sweeping her three individual events and helping the Bobcats collect their first-ever win over Salisbury in CAC action. Nitchie placed first in three freestyle events - the 50 (28.67), 100 (1:02.39) and 800-meters (10:06.99) and helped the 400-meter freestyle relay to a victory. On the season, Nitchie is a perfect 14-of-14 in individual events.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Four CAC teams competed last week, while the Marymount and Mary Washington meet was postponed until Jan. 15 ... In CAC action, Frostburg State defeated Salisbury 175-87 and York defeated St. Mary's 160-42 ... St. Mary's freshman Anna LaPoint secured three individual golds in the Seahawks' non-conference win over Randolph Macon ... Salisbury freshman Jordyn Rowe earned two individual first-place finishes and was a part of two first-place relay teams in Friday's meet against Penn State-Altoona. She finished with a time of 27.30 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle event, and also won the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 30.39 seconds. Rowe was also the anchor for the 200-yard medley relay team that finished first with a time of 2:02.89, and swam third for the 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished first with a time of 1:55.86 ... York junior Maddy Mann picked up a pair of wins in leading the Spartans to a CAC win over St. Mary's on Saturday. Mann was victorious in the 200 freestyle and the 100 freestyle. Mann registered a time of 1:57.27 in the 200 and 54.0 in the 100 to earn the two wins. Mann also swam anchor on the 400 medley relay team that finished second with at time of 4:06.14. Mann leads the Spartans with five individual wins for the season. Mann owns the top time in the CAC in the 100 and the second best time in the 200 and 500 free.
