Salisbury's Courtney Webster And Tara McGovern Named To Longstreth Field Hockey All-America Team

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced the 2011 Longstreth/ NFHCA Division III All-American Teams and Salisbury had two players honored. Seniors Tara McGovern and Courtney Webster were each named to the second team. With these two selections, the program has recorded 86 All-Americans since 1974.

With the 2011 second team All-American status McGovern joins eight other Sea Gulls who have garnished All-American status for three years as she was named to the first team in 2009 and third team in 2010. The senior co-captain had an excellent senior season anchoring a defense that allowed only nine goals in the regular season and produced 10 shutouts. The Yorktown Heights, N.Y., native ends her career with a plethora of honors including four first-team Capital Athletic Conference selections, CAC Rookie of the Year (2008), CAC Player of the Year (2009), three time All-South region first-team selection (2009, '10, '11), All-South region second team (2008), ECAC Mid-Atlantic All-Region first team (2009) and ECAC Mid-Atlantic All-Region Defensive Player of the Year in 2009.

Webster earns her first All-American status with the second team honor. Webster led the team offensively scoring 18 goals and handing out seven assists for a team high of 43 points. The senior co-captain ends her career with accolades including second team All-CAC (2008), All-South region second team (2010), All South region first team (2011), first team All-CAC (2011) and CAC Player of the Year in 2011.
