Eleven from CAC Earn NFHCA Field Hockey All-Region Accolades
Eleven field hockey student-athletes from the CAC were honored as NFHCA All-South Region all-stars, announced Monday. The list includes six first-teamers and five second-team selections.
CAC Champion Salisbury landed four players on the all-region squad, with two on the first team and two on the second. Courtney Janzten and Samantha Johnson earned first team honors, while Hannah Miller and Breck Sullivan received second team recognition. This is the third straight first team all-region nod for Janzten, while Johnson also earned all-region for the third straight year, landing on the first team in 2013 and second team in 2014.
Mary Washington also secured four spot on the all-region squad, with Haley Kane and Jenna Steele both earning first team honors, and Kathleen Namey and Carlee Budd grabbing second team accolades. Kane and Steele were all-region honorees each of their four years, while Namey earned second team recognition for the second straight year.
A pair of Christopher Newport players nabbed spots on the squad, with Lauren Cheatam on the first team and Brittan Muir on the second team. Cheatam collected first team accolades, while Muir was named to the second team.
York's Ali Posey was a first team selection, earning all-region honors for the second straight season after receiving second team accolades last year.
