Wesley's Rashawn Johnson Named To ECAC South Men's Basketball All-Star Team
Wesley College's Rashawn Johnson added another postseason honor to his ever growing list, as the junior was named to the ECAC All-South Region second team.
The junior guard was named to the D3hoops.com All-Middle Atlantic Region First Team and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Middle Atlantic Second Team earlier this offseason, after claiming a place on the All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) first team.
It is the second time he has made the ECAC All-South team.
As a junior, Johnson scored a career-high 22.5 points per game to finish second in the CAC. Johnson led the conference in offensive rebounding (3.27 per game) and minutes per game (37.27), and also finished 10th in conference in rebounding (6.3), third in steals (1.92), and seventh in made threes (2.50).
The Sussex Tech graduate scored at least 20 points in 19 of Wesley's 26 games and was named to the all-tournament team at Gettysburg Days Inn Tip Off Tournament, the 'Mose' Hole/Kiwanis Classic in Wooster, Ohio, and the Radisson Invitational in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Johnson finished the season just 23 points shy of the school's all-time scoring record and sixth on Wesley's career rebounding list with 498. He is also ninth in career steals with 122.
Wesley finished its 2007-08 season with a record of 14-12 overall and tied for third in the Capital Athletic Conference with a 9-7 record.
