Southern Virginia Sophomore Casey Rich, Frostburg State Senior Tom Kraemer and York Senior Caleb Abney Receive CAC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards
YORK, Pa. -- Southern Virginia sophomore Casey Rich, Frostburg State senior Tom Kraemer and York senior Caleb Abney were awarded as the CAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for March 7, 2016.

Southern Virginia sophomore Casey Rich was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after registering seven goals and two assists in the Knight's 19-15 victory over Greensboro on Saturday. Rich also added two ground balls and a caused turnover in the win. For the year, he is tied for the conference lead with 16 goals and leads the Knights in goals and assists.

Frostburg State senior Tom Kraemer grabbed CAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors after totaling 20 saves in a 2-0 week for the Bobcats that included wins over Messiah and No. 16 Ursinus. Kraemer notched 10 saves in both wins and allowed just six goals in each contest. He posted a 62.5% save percentage for the week.

York senior Caleb Abney was selected as the CAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week after spearheading the Spartans' 12-6 victory over No. 10 Roanoke last Wednesday in their lone action of the week. Abney held the Maroons' offense, which had been averaging 16 goals per game, to just six goals. He made 12 saves in his 56:33 in net, good for a 66.7% save percentage.

Salisbury is ranked No. 2 in both the USILA and Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Rankings. York is ranked No. 11 in the USILA poll and No. 12 in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine poll, while Frostburg State is No. 16 in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine poll and No. 18 in the USILA rankings ... Frostburg State (5-0), Salisbury (5-0) and York (4-0) remain unbeaten in 2016 ... Christopher Newport's Ryan Mills posted a career-high five assists during a 13-6 triumph over Guilford. His five assists rank fourth on the program's all-time single game list. His efforts helped the CNU man-up unit convert three Guilford penalties into four goals during the contest ... Frostburg State's Tate Rolland scored five goals on the week as the Bobcats pushed their record to 5-0. Tate scored three times in a win over Messiah and added two more goals in a 7-6 upset of No. 16 Ursinus on Saturday at Bobcat Stadium ... Junior Miles Davis scored five of Mary Washington's 10 goals in an 11-10 loss to Widener on Saturday. He has posted 11 goals and four assists this season for the Eagles ... St. Mary's goalkeeper Max Alderman put on a solid effort at Washington College, picking up 15 saves ... Against No. 9 Ohio Wesleyan, Salisbury's Thomas Cirillo paced the offense with three goals and three assists, including the game-winning goal in overtime to secure the 13-12 win for the Sea Gulls. Defender Kyle Tucker held All-American Marcus Dietz, who came into the contest averaging 5.66 points per game, to just one goal and one assist. Tucker caused the turnover that led to Salisbury's 12th goal in the 13-12 victory. With 15 caused turnovers on the season, Tucker is the leading takeaway man in the CAC ... York's Andrew Gamble tallied two goals and two assists in the Spartans' road win at No. 10 Roanoke. For the season, Gamble leads the Spartans in scoring with 17 points on 11 goals and six assists. He has scored his 11 goals on 22 shots while he also has one man-up goal, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers. York's Caleb Abney has a goals against average of 3.61 and a .711 save percentage on the season. He has recorded 27 saves and allowed 11 goals in 182:56 of work. Last week's victory over Roanoke was Abney's 40th of his collegiate career.
