Salisbury's DiBartolo Named South Atlantic Region Men's Soccer Coach of the Year

Salisbury men's soccer head coach Gerry DiBartolo has been named the South Atlantic Region Coach of the Year as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Monday.

DiBartolo led the Sea Gulls to a 13-4-3 record, earning both the CAC regular season and postseason championships and picking up a bid to the NCAA tournament along the way. At season's end, DiBartolo was named the CAC Coach of the Year for his seventh time over the course of his 34 years of service. This is the sixth time DiBartolo has been named an NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year, with his last coming in 2007.

Announcing this season would be his last after the team's regular-season finale, DiBartolo has been adding to his career accolades all season. In the team's second game of the season, he earned his 400th career victory, all of which came with Salisbury. Also, DiBartolo started the season as the 17th winningest coach in DIII history and the 38th in NCAA men's soccer history, the 13-win season boosts DiBartolo to 16th in DIII and 32nd all-time as he concludes his career with 411 victories.

DiBartolo will now move onto voting for the NSCAA National Coach of the Year.
