YORK, Pa. -- Frostburg State junior Christian March was selected as the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week for Oct. 25, 2016.

Frostburg State junior Christian March was selected as the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week after helping the Bobcats to a 4-1 start to the season with five individual victories in two meets. In a tri-meet with Hampden-Sydney and Barton, March won the 50-meter breaststroke (30.85), 100-meter breaststroke (1:08.08), and the 100-meter IM (1:02.87). In a quad-meet with Goucher, Stevenson, and Hood, March finished first in the 100-yard butterfly (56.47) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.86). He also placed second in the 200-yard IM (2:07.01). His 100 breaststroke time currently ranks 33rd nationally.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Three CAC teams - Frostburg State, Salisbury, and York - have opened up the 2016-17 season ... Frostburg State is 4-0 in dual meets, York is 1-0, and Salisbury is 0-1 ... Mary Washington, Marymount, and St. Mary's will open their seasons this week ... Three CAC matchups are on this week's slate, with Frostburg State traveling to Mary Washington on Friday and Marymount at St. Mary's and Salisbury at York on Saturday ... Salisbury opened the year with a 147-115 loss to Catholic. Senior Okan Eiygor earned two individual first-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (54.88) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.55), and also was a part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:40.2) with Tyler Maggio, Stephen Arcidiacono and Jake Blazer ... York junior Morgan Schreiber led the Spartans to a convincing victory to open the season at Elizabethtown on Saturday. Schreiber picked up an individual win in the 200 backstroke (1:59.41) and placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:50.94).
