CNU’s Porsmyr Hansen, UCSC’s Sprenger Claim C2C Tennis Player of the Week Laurels

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the first week of the 2025 spring tennis season. Christopher Newport's Edvard Porsmyr Hansen was named C2C Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while the UC Santa Cruz's Natalie Sprenger claimed C2C Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors.
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Edvard Porsmyr Hansen, Christopher Newport
Christopher Newport senior Edvard Porsmyr Hansen won all four of his matches in a season-opening sweep for the 28th-ranked Captains. He helped CNU capture the doubles point in both matches as he paired with Gabe Smith for a 6-2 win at No. 2 against Virginia Wesleyan and a 6-4 win at No. 2 versus Hampden-Sydney. In singles play, Porsmyr Hansen added straight set wins at No. 3 in the opener (6-1, 6-2) and then did not surrender a game to his Hampden-Sydney adversary at No. 2 (6-0, 6-0).
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Natalie Sprenger, UC Santa Cruz
UC Santa Cruz senior Natalie Sprenger earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles over Cal Lutheran to help the Slugs earn a 4-0 victory in their home opener.

UC Santa Cruz's Andrew Tjoa helped the Slugs earn a 4-1 victory over CLU following a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles.
