Salisbury's Dill, Roberts Sweep C2C Cross Country Athletes of the Week

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the fifth week of the 2024 cross country season. Salisbury's Peyton Dill claimed C2C Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors, while the Sea Gulls Rachel Roberts was tabbed C2C Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK: Peyton Dill, Salisbury
Salisbury sophomore Peyton Dill earned a first-place finish for the Sea Gulls at the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Winter Place Park. The Sykesville, Maryland native recorded a time of 27:36.6 in the 8k. Salisbury also won the overall event placing six in the top 10 for 18. CNU finished second with 42 points, and Virginia Wesleyan finished third with 107 points to round out the top three.
WOMEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK: Rachel Roberts, Salisbury
Salisbury junior Rachel Roberts took first place for the Sea Gulls with a time of 22:10.5 at the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Winter Place Park. The Marriottsville, Maryland native helped Salisbury take three of the top five positions for 24 points to run away with the team race. CNU finished second with 48 points, followed by Delaware State with 77 to round out the top three.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS
Christopher Newport's Taylor Dalton finished sixth in the 8k at the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday. Helped CNU place second in the final team standings, the junior completed the course in 28:14.9. That marked the third-fastest 8k clocking of his career and cut 20 seconds off his previous course-best… Jacob Lohr led the Mary Washington men's team to first place honors among five teams in the 8,000 meters at the Shenandoah Hornet Harrier on Saturday. Lohr took first place honors, with a time of 27:58, as Eagles finished in five of the top six slots… Sarah Dake led Christopher Newport to a second-place finish in the team standings at the Don Cathcart Invitational. The sophomore completed the 6k in 23:48.5, which placed her fifth in the field and marked her first career sub-24-minute clocking… Freshman Lily Hoffman led Mary Washington's women to a second-place finish in the 6,000-meter race at the Shenandoah University Hornet Harrier on Saturday. Hoffman finished fourth overall, with a time of 25:36, as the Eagles finished with 34 points overall, just six behind champion Bridgewater's 28.
