2024 C2C Men's and Women's Cross Country Awards Released

The 2024 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Men's and Women's Cross Country awards have been announced. The following are this year's honorees, as voted on by the league's head coaches.

WOMEN'S RUNNER OF THE YEAR: Kenzie Seymour, UC Santa Cruz

Seymour headlined the individual awards after finishing 21st (21:31.0) at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships to become the first All-American in Banana Slugs history.  She placed third at the NCAA West Regional to lead UCSC to a third straight NCAA team appearance.

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Lily Hoffman, Mary Washington

Hoffman placed fifth at the C2C Championships to earn first team All-C2C honors.  She finished 20th at the South Regional and 176th at the NCAA Championships to lead the Eagles.

WOMEN'S SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Helena Janku, UC Santa Cruz

Janku, a legal studies and environmental studies major, was the C2C individual champion for the second consecutive year leading the Banana Slugs to their fourth consecutive title.  She placed seventh at the NCAA West Regional and was 57th at the NCAA Championships.

WOMEN'S COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR: David Klech, UC Santa Cruz

For the fourth straight year, Klech earned coach of the year recognition.  He led the Banana Slugs to the C2C title and a third-place finish at the NCAA West Regional.  UCSC, who earned an at-large selection, finished 19th at the NCAA Championships.


MEN'S RUNNER OF THE YEAR: Luke Holland, UC Santa Cruz

Holland topped the individual awards after claiming the C2C individual crown (25:29.1) as the Banana Slugs recorded a perfect team score of 15 points to win their fourth straight title.  He finished ninth at the NCAA West Regional and was 66th at the national championships.

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Andrew Janetsky, Christopher Newport

Janetsky claimed second team All-C2C honors with a ninth-place finish at the conference championships.  At the NCAA South Regional, he finished 28th to lead the Captains.

MEN'S SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Benthan Vu, UC Santa Cruz

Vu, a computer science: computer game design major, earned scholar-athlete honors for the second time.  Vu finished fifth at the C2C Championships helping the Banana Slugs record a perfect team score, and placed 69th at the regional.

MEN'S COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR: David Klech, UC Santa Cruz

Klech claimed coach of the year honors for the fourth consecutive year.  He guided the Banana Slugs to the C2C Championship with a perfect team score of 15 points and a fourth-place finish at the NCAA West Regional.
