CNU’s Greaver, Martin Earn C2C Softball Weekly Honors

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the first week of the 2025 softball season. Christopher Newport's Brooke Greaver was named C2C Player of the Week, while the Captains Jamie Martin earned C2C Pitcher of the Week honors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brooke Greaver, Christopher Newport
Christopher Newport senior Brooke Greaver opened the new softball season by cracking two home runs and driving in six runs in a doubleheader sweep at Ferrum College on Sunday. The graduate student third baseman recorded two two-run blasts in the opener, and then added two more RBI with sacrifice flies in the nightcap as the ninth-ranked Captains opened the year with 7-1 and 4-0 victories.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jamie Martin, Christopher Newport
Christopher Newport senior lefthander Jamie Martin opened the new season on Sunday by throwing five scoreless innings and earning her first victory of the season as the Captains swept a doubleheader at Ferrum College. Martin didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning and yielded just two hits and recorded nine strikeouts.

PITCHER: Cierra Foss, Mary Washington
C2C HIGHLIGHTS
In two games this past week, Mary Washington's Emily Angel went 4-for-7 with a pair of doubles and an RBI in a doubleheader split with Sweet Briar this past Tuesday. Angel doubled in both games, while also scoring three total runs… In the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader, Mary Washington's Cierra Foss gave the Eagles the start they needed as they took an 8-3 victory. In five innings, Foss yielded just one earned run (three total), while striking out pair of batters.
