SU’s Stockman, CNU’s Martin Receive C2C Softball Weekly Awards

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the second week of the 2025 softball season. Salisbury's Ellen Stockman took home C2C Player of the Week honors, while Christopher Newport's Jamie Martin repeated as C2C Pitcher of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ellen Stockman, Salisbury
Salisbury senior Ellen Stockman, the Brunswick, Md. native, racked up seven hits on opening weekend, helping the Sea Gulls post a 3-1 record with two ranked wins. Her biggest game of the weekend came against No. 16 Rochester helping mount a huge comeback for SU. Stockman posted four hits, two doubles, two RBIs, and a home run.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jamie Martin, Christopher Newport
Christopher Newport senior Jamie Martin appeared in three games this week, picking up two victories and a save. She did not allow any runs in nine innings of work and struck out 17 batters while walking just two and yielding just four hits. CNU, ranked ninth in the nation in the pre-season, is now 6-0, and Martin has won three games in all and still has not allowed a run to cross the plate.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS
Christopher Newport's Natalie Quinlan smacked four home runs in three games played this week, and also drove in 11 runs for the undefeated Captains. All four of Quinlan's hits cleared the fence as she went four-for-eight at the plate and registered a 2.000 slugging percentage. The sophomore catcher drove in six runs in the nightcap of a doubleheader with York College of Pa., hitting two long balls. She also crushed a two-run shot in the opener vs. the Spartans, and a three-run blast vs. Randolph… Mary Washington's Emily Angel went 3-for-10 in four games for the Eagles this past week, Angel singled twice against Lynchburg and doubled once against No. 8 Virginia Wesleyan… Salisbury's Sydney Adolfson, the Newtown, Conn. native, earned two complete-game wins along with a save in the Sea Gulls' opening weekend, who went 3-1. Her first complete-game victory came against No. 16 Rochester, giving up eight hits while racking up four strikeouts. In her second complete-game win over Swarthmore, Adolfson only gave up five hits and no earned runs… In her start against No. 8 Virginia Welseyan, Mary Washington's Sydney Jester carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning before surrendering her lone run in the fifth. Jester struck out a pair and worked around four walks in her performance. She started contest at Lynchburg allowing six hits and two runs in three innings.
