2025 C2C Indoor Track and Field Awards Announced

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its award winners for the 2025 indoor season after the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships:

Men's Athlete of the Year: Eric Anderson - UC Santa Cruz

Eric Anderson earned top honors for the second straight year after placing fourth in the mile at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.  He claimed the C2C title in the mile for the third consecutive year with a meet record and won the 800m to score 20 points as the Banana Slugs took the team title for the first time.

Women's Athlete of the Year: Elena Stanciu - UC Santa Cruz

Elena Stanciu finished 10th in the mile at the NCAA Indoor Championships after a C2C record time (4:56.35) in the prelims.  She won the mile at the league meet with a meet record and was runner-up in the 800-meters.

Men's Rookie of the Year: Jadon Gaines – Salisbury

At the C2C Championships, Jadon Gaines won the high jump and placed second in the triple jump.  He scored a total of 18 points for the Sea Gulls.

Women's Rookie of the Year: Yasmin Deane - Mary Washington

Yasmin Deane claimed the 60-meters title with a meet record and placed 2nd in the 200-meters at the C2C Championships.  She also broke the UMW records in both the 60m and 200m in her first year.

Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Luke Holland - UC Santa Cruz

Luke Holland, a molecular, cellular, and developmental biology major, was a double winner at the C2C Championships.  He prevailed in the 3,000- and 5,000-meters to help the Banana Slugs win the team title for the first time.

Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Helena Janku - UC Santa Cruz

Helena Janku, an environmental studies and legal studies double major, won the 3,000- and 5,000-meters at the C2C Championships for the second straight year.  She set the conference and meet record in the 3,000m (10:05.50).

Men's Coaching Staff of the Year: David Klech - UC Santa Cruz

Head coach David Klech led the Banana Slugs to their first C2C Indoor Track and Field Championship.  UCSC won seven events en route to 154 total points.  Furthermore, Eric Anderson and Elena Stanciu earned berths in the NCAA Championships with Anderson placing fourth and Stanciu 10th in the mile, respectively.

Women's Coaching Staff of the Year: Tyler Wingard - Christopher Newport

Head coach Tyler Wingard guided the Captains to their fifth straight and 10th overall C2C indoor title.  CNU tallied 165 points with six conference titles as Wingard received his fourth straight and seventh overall honor. Additionally, Katie Stevens claimed a spot in the NCAA Championships and placed 16th in the weight throw.
