The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 10th week of the 2024-25 track and field season. Mary Washington's Yasmin Deane received C2C Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors, while Christopher Newport's Katie Stevens claimed C2C Women's Field Athlete of the Week distinction.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Yasmin Deane, Mary Washington

Mary Washington first year Yasmin Deane finished in first place in the 100 meters at the Dennis Craddock Invitational on Saturday, in achieving the 11th-fastest time in Division III this season, with a time of 11.87 seconds.

WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Katie Stevens, Christopher Newport

Christopher Newport senior Katie Stevens won three events and moved into the top-20 on the national leaderboard in the discus during the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic over the weekend. On Saturday, she captured the discus with a 43.95-meter toss, which marked the 17th-longest throw in the nation this year and was the top effort in the league by over 30 feet. She also posted victories in the shot put (11.56 meters) and hammer (49.78 meters). Both of those distances rank second in the conference, behind her own league-leading throws from earlier this spring.

TRACK: Sydney Trussell, Christopher Newport; Jordan Baden, UC Santa Cruz

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Christopher Newport's Sydney Trussell established a new personal-best and jumped into the top-50 nationally in the 200 during the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic on Saturday. The senior posted a time of 24.94, which stands 46th on the national leaderboard. It also marks the top clocking by a Captain in over 15 years… UC Santa Cruz's Jordan Baden had a strong race in the 1500 meters, placing second in 4:53.03 at the Chabot Finale.
