UCSC’s Holland, SU’s Reeves Garner C2C Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week Recognition

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 11th week of the 2024-25 track and field season. UC Santa Cruz's Luke Holland earned C2C Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors, while Salisbury's Jacob Reeves picked up C2C Men's Field Athlete of the Week merit.
MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Luke Holland, UC Santa Cruz
UC Santa Cruz's Luke Holland shined at the Bryan Clay Invite, breaking the program record in the 5k for the second time this season after completing the race in 14:15.04. Holland's time also has him ranked in the top 20 with the 19th best time this year.
MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Jacob Reeves, Salisbury
Salisbury junior Jacob Reeves earned two first place finishes along with a second and fourth in the throwing events in the Eastern Shore Challenge. He won the hammer throw (47.66m) and javelin (50.63m). Reeves was second in the discus with a PR of 49.70 meters (163-1) which ranks 20th in Division III. He added fourth in the shot put (12.20m).

C2C HIGHLIGHTS
Christopher Newport's Darrin Gallegos-Perches established a pair of PRs during the New Captains Classic on Saturday. In the 110-hurdles, he led all Division III competitors with a time of 16.21, which also marked the top effort by a Captain since 2023. Additionally, he cut over a second off his personal-best in the 400-hurdles with a time of 59.10… Mary Washington senior Lacob Lohr finished first in the 3000 meters at the Christopher Newport New Captains Classic on Saturday, crossing the line at 8:44.56… Salisbury's Kai Smith led the way in the 400-meter in the Eastern Shore Challenge with a season-best time of 48.67, which places him 66th nationally and also leads the conference now in the 400 meters. Smith also won the 200-meter with a time of 21.70… Daniel Young moved into the top-50 nationally in the shot put while climbing up Christopher Newport's all-time performance list on Saturday at the New Captains Classic. During the meet, he led all collegiate competitors with a 15.54-meter toss. That marked the sixth-longest throw in school history and vaulted him to 39th on this year's national leaderboard.
