Sawyer has already been recognized for her academic prowess this season as she was selected to the 2015 Academic All-District® Division III Women's Soccer Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on October 29.

A team captain this season, she is a double major in biology and environmental studies with a minor in French. Despite such a demanding academic workload, Sawyer has maintained a 3.587 cumulative grade point average and still finds the time to be involved with several campus extracurricular activities beyond soccer.

She has made the school's Dean's List every semester, which awards those students who earn a minimum semester grade-point average of 3.50 or better on all courses attempted with at least 12 credit hours taken for a letter grade. Sawyer has been named a St. Mary's Scholar as well; an honor bestowed upon juniors and seniors who have earned at least 32 credit-hours and whose cumulative GPA is 3.50 or better.

A three-time member of the CAC All-Academic Team, she currently serves as the fellow for the school's newest academic discipline, environmental studies. Her free time is devoted to being a peer health educator and volunteering with Best Buddies and at the Chesapeake Shores Nursing Home.

On the pitch, Sawyer is a three-time All-CAC selection who was tabbed by the league coaches as the CAC Player of the Year and earned first team honors as well in 2015. She joins Brooke Barcheski '03 (2002), Katie Klotz '09 (2006), and Lauren Carrier '09 (2008) as the only Seahawk players to be picked as the top player in the conference.

The 5-7 forward enjoyed a breakout senior season, finishing as the conference leader with 18 goals and 40 points while ranking 22nd in division III in goals per game (1.06), 27th in points per game (2.35), and 29th in goals. Sawyer was also second in the conference with a team-best four game-winning goals. She was twice named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week on September 14 and September 28.

Her totals this season solidified Sawyer's spot in the Seahawk women's soccer record books. She ranks tied for third all-time with nine game-winning goals (just three away from breaking the career mark of 11 held by Katie Campbell '93) and fifth with 32 goals (just five shy of breaking the career record of 36 owned by Crista Childers '02). Sawyer is also tied for seventh with 73 points.

In relation to the program's single-season records, Sawyer's numbers rank tied for first (game-winning goals), second (goals), and tied for third (points). She finished just three goals shy and five points short of breaking the single-season marks in both categories set by Michelle Kammerer in 1986.

Perry was also named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection earlier this year, becoming the first women's soccer player in the 19-year history of the program to earn the esteemed honor. Like the CoSIDA honor, the NSCAA Scholar All-Region designation recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. A student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average throughout her career, start more than 50% of all games and be a significant contributor to the team.

The Captains' leading scorer fulfilled all three requirements and more this season, carrying a 3.59 cumulative GPA into her third year. The Psychology major is also on pace to finish with a minor in Leadership Studies, and has twice earned Academic All-Conference honors.

On the field, Perry pieced together another tremendous season as a leader for the Captains, wrapping up her junior season with back-to-back 30-point efforts. She became just the third player in CNU women's soccer history to accomplish that feat, finishing the 2015 season with a team-high 32 points and 13 goals scored. She added six assists and continues to climb the all-time scoring charts at CNU, ranking third in assists (19), fifth in total points (77) and tied for sixth in goals scored (29).

With five game-winning shots this year, Perry is also etching her name among the program's elite in clutch players, ranking second all-time in game-winning goals. She has 12 winners in her career, and trails only Emma O'Reilly's 14 at the top of the chart.

The Purcellville, Va. native is a constant threat offensively, held scoreless in just seven games after starting all 20 games in her junior season. The 2014 CAC Player of the Year earned first team All-Conference honors and was also named a second team NSCAA All-Region player. She ranked second in the Capital Athletic Conference in total goals and points, while leading the league in total shots, with 90.

Perry helped lead the Captains to a third consecutive conference regular season championship, while finishing out the year with a 14-5-1 overall record and 8-1-0 mark in conference play. The 14-win season matched the most in a single season since 2010 and also included tying the mark for the most wins in a regular season in program history.
