YORK, Pa. -- Penn State Harrisburg sophomore Kristin Stark and Mary Washington sophomore Haley Randall were named the CAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 3, 2016. 

Offensive Player of the Week

Penn State Harrisburg sophomore Kristin Stark was tabbed as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying three goals and an assist last week for the Lions, including a two-goal, one-assist performance in a 3-1 CAC win over Southern Virginia. Stark also scored in a 2-1 non-conference defeat to Eastern.

Mary Washington sophomore Haley Randall was picked as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after posting a shutout in the Eagles' 1-0 victory at Salisbury on Sunday. Randall notched one save in 90 minutes to earn the win.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport is ranked No. 23 in the Sept. 27 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) rankings ... CNU, Mary Washington, and St. Mary's sit atop the CAC standings after two weeks of conference play with 2-0 records ... CNU has matched it's best start through nine games in program history (8-1-0). The Captains now boast 15 goal-scorers this season, matching the most since the 2011 season ... Mary Washington sophomore Allye Reynolds booted the game's only goal in a 1-0 win for the Eagles over Salisbury on the road on Sunday, as the Eagles improved to 6-3-1 on the year, and 2-0 in CAC action ... St. Mary's senior Gillian Sawyer netted the game-winning goal to propel the Seahawks to their second CAC win of the season against Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon. With her 10th goal of the season, Sawyer not only became the school's all-time points leader but also has the most game-winning goals in program history. The 5-7 forward passed Christa Childers '02 for the top spot as Sawyer now has 94 points (42g, 10a), beating Childers' mark of 93 (36g, 21a). In addition, she currently has 12 game-winning goals during her four-year career, breaking the old mark of 11 set by Katie Campbell '93 ... Southern Virginia's Lydia Adams scored the Knights only goal of the week ... York went 1-1 last week, falling to Elizabethtown 1-0 before defeating Marymount 1-0. Freshman goalkeeper Brittany Cullison made seven stops throughout the two contests, including a penalty kick save vs. Marymount. Cullison's shutout vs. Marymount was her third of the season.
