York sophomore Maddy Mann was named the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after recording two individual wins and a relay victory in the Spartans' season-opening win over Elizabethtown. Mann won the 200 freestyle by more than six seconds, finishing in 1:59.35. She also touched first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:16.84, defeating the second-place finisher by 12 seconds. Those times rank 21st and 16th in Division III, respectively, so far this season. Mann was also a part of the winning 200 medley relay team with a time of 1:59.74.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Three CAC teams - Frostburg State, Salisbury, and York - have opened up the 2016-17 season ... Frostburg State is 4-0 in dual meets, York is 1-0, and Salisbury is 0-1 ... Mary Washington, Marymount, and St. Mary's will open their seasons this week ... Three CAC matchups are on this week's slate, with Frostburg State traveling to Mary Washington on Friday and Marymount at St. Mary's and Salisbury at York on Saturday ... Frostburg State remained undefeated as it downed Goucher, 141-64, Hood, 140-56 and Stevenson 104-101 last week. Macey Nitchie won individual events in the 50-yard freestyle (25.21) and the 100-yard freestyle (54.95) and helped the 200-yard medley relay (1:56.43) to a win ... Salisbury senior Victoria Radcliffe tallied two individual first-place finishes in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.02) and the 200-yard IM (2:17.56) in a season-opening 170-92 loss to Catholic.
