Below is a brief preview of each team entering the 2025 season:
Hauling in the highest national ranking in program history, Christopher Newport will open the 2025 campaign ranked No. 17 in the nation. The defending conference champions reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever in 2024 and will look to continue its success under head coach David Weiner. Leading the way is two-time Conference Player of the Year Raine Weis entering her senior year. The record-setting veteran has qualified for the NCAA Individual National Championships in two of her first three years and starts the Spring ranked in both singles and doubles in the preseason poll. Sophomore All-Conference selections Kylie Schaefer and Samantha Robertson are also back to help lead the way for CNU this Spring.
Mary Washington will look to continue its success on the national stage this spring, after advancing to the NCAA Tournament second round a year ago. Headlining the returnees are sophomore Addison Felts (15 singles wins, 12 doubles wins) and senior Linda Dimitroff, who both competed consistently in the top six in singles and doubles a year ago. A class of newcomers will look to inject talent and competition near the top of the lineup, with first year Natalie Kim gaining four singles wins and six doubles victories in the fall against mainly Division I competition. Returnees Olivia Geoghegan, Jacey Copeland, Evie Snyder and Madison McCarty will vie for expanded roles, as will first years Sophia Broomall and Emily Tharpe.
UC Santa Cruz enters the 2025 season as the No. 37 ranked team in the country. Last season, the Banana Slugs tied the program record for dual wins in a season with a 12-6 overall record and look to have another strong season as they feature a roster with nine returning players while welcoming three new faces. Among the returners for UCSC are First Team All-C2C players Chloe Wu and Sweden Van Houten. The pair earned First Team honors in doubles with Wu also earning First Team honors as a singles player.
Salisbury posted a 1-1 record in official matches during the fall and comes into the spring slate after going 14-5 in 2024, their most wins in one season since 2018. SU brings back reigning C2C Rookie of the Year Gibelle Beaujon, plus her All-C2C doubles partner Olivia Hall. Three newcomers join the seven returners on the Sea Gull roster.
