Christopher Newport’s Burk, James Sweep C2C Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the third week of the 2024 women's volleyball season. Christopher Newport's Macy Burk earned C2C Offensive Player of the Week recognition, while the Captains Megan James claimed C2C Defensive Player of the Week honors.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Macy Burk, Christopher Newport

Christopher Newport senior Macy Burk amassed 29 kills and hitting an impressive .481 across three matches. She was crucial the Captains' decisive 3-0 victory over No. 17 Calvin, where she served four aces. Burk continued her dominant play the following day, delivering 17 kills and hitting .517 in a five-set battle against No. 10 MIT.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Megan James, Christopher Newport

Christopher Newport junior Megan James successfully received 61 serves without a single error over three matches, including two against top 20 teams. She recorded 3.08 digs per set and finished the weekend with a total of 37 digs. James also contributed three aces and blocked two attacks.

OFFENSIVE: Emma White, Mount Mary; Gwen Eustace, Salisbury; Lauren Foley, Mary Washington

DEFENSIVE: Natalie Uibel, Salisbury; Josie McCoy, Warren Wilson


C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Mount Mary's Emma White had a tremendous offensive week as the Blue Angels went 1-1 and grabbed their first victory of the season over Andrews. White provided 28 kills, 28 assists and 19 digs in the two matches… Salisbury's Gwen Eustace hammered down 39 kills at a .333 attack rate over the Sea Gulls' 2-2 week. Her best performance came in a Saturday four-set victory at Randolph-Macon in which she swung .600 to the tune of 14 kills… Senior setter Lauren Foley led Mary Washington this weekend at Swarthmore, scoring 35 assists in two matches, and adding six service aces. In addition, Foley scored 18 digs, including 16 in a five-set defeat to the hosts… Salisbury's Natalie Uibel averaged 4.69 digs per set en route to 61 total digs in the Sea Gulls' 2-2 week. She averaged 18 digs in SU's three matches at the Randolph-Macon Tournament, finishing one off her career high with 19 digs in a four-set win against the hosting Yellow Jackets… Warren Wilson's Josie McCoy tallied 37 total digs (3.70 per set), three assists, and a service ace in the Owl's 1-2 week.
