FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Christopher Newport junior Seth Woodard and Marymount senior Collin Bazemore were tabbed as the CAC Baseball Players of the Week for March 26, 2018.

Christopher Newport junior Seth Woodard was selected as the CAC Player of the Week for the second time this year after hitting .455 (5-for-11) with two home runs and two doubles in a 4-0 week for the Captains, including a trio of CAC wins. Woodard drove in a team-high eight runs, scored four times, slugged 1.182 and reach base at a .529 clip in wins over North Carolina Wesleyan, Salisbury and St. Mary's. He was also perfect in the field in nine chances, including starting a pair of around-the-horn double plays. In three wins against CAC opponents, Woodard was 4-for-8 with two home runs and a double, including a 2-for-2, three-RBI effort against St. Mary's in an 8-0 shutout over the Seahawks. He registered at least one hit and one RBI in all four contests for the Captains.

Marymount senior Collin Bazemore was tabbed as the CAC Pitcher of the Week after recording a career-high 13 strikeouts in 7.2 innings of shutout work in a 2-0 victory over No. 9 Frostburg State on Friday. Bazemore allowed just two hits through his 7.2 innings on the mound.

In the D3baseball.com week 3 rankings, Frostburg State is ranked No. 9, Christopher Newport is ranked No. 13 and Salisbury is receiving votes ... In the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball Poll, Christopher Newport is No. 10, Frostburg State is No. 15 and Salisbury is receiving votes ... CNU senior Logan Harrelson combined with one reliever to throw a three-hit shutout against St. Mary's, matching a season-high with nine strikeouts. Harrelson improved to 3-0 with a 2.16 ERA for the year ... Frostburg State senior Greg Schneider was 3-for-3 at the plate in a win over Gallaudet. He drove in three and scored one run as FSU won 10-8 ... Sophomore CF Garrett Lyons helped Mary Washington to a CAC split with Marymount on Saturday, with three hits in seven at-bats, including a three-run homer that proved pivotal in game two's 9-6 victory. He walked and scored twice on the day ... Marymount junior Conner Hall smacked four doubles on his six hits this week, while maintaining a .545 batting average and .909 slugging. He registered three runs, an RBI, and a walk ... Salisbury senior Connor Reeves threw two complete games last week. He earned the win against Neumann, giving up just three hits over nine innings while striking out six and walking none. In a 2-0 loss to Southern Virginia, Reeves surrendered just five hits and the two runs over eight innings, striking out a pair. Sophomore Justin Meekins batted .421 in Salisbury's five games, scoring three runs and walking twice for a .476 on-base percentage ... Southern Virginia senior Tayler Peterson threw an eight-inning three-hitter in a 2-0 win over Salisbury, allowing no runs and striking out five. Freshman Canon Anderson went 4-for-7 in the doubleheader at Salisbury with RBIs in both games, including the game-winning RBI with a double in the fourth inning of game two. Anderson ranks second on the team with a .370 average this season ... In York's only game of the week, senior first baseman Christian Bilan led the Spartans to a 14-5 road win at Elizabethtown. Bilan finished the game 4-for-6 with three runs scored, four RBIs, a double and a triple as he slugged 1.167 in the game.
