YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport sophomore Aaron McFarland was selected as the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Jan. 11, 2016.

Christopher Newport sophomore Aaron McFarland was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after helping the Captains remain unblemished in CAC action with a pair of conference wins last week. McFarland led CNU in scoring in wins over both Penn State Harrisburg and Wesley, averaging 22.5 points and 5.0 three-pointers per game while shooting 75% (12-for-16) from the field and 76.9% (10-for-13) from downtown. He added 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as the Captains improved to 12-1 overall and 6-0 atop the CAC.

In the D3hoops.com Week 4 National Rankings, Christopher Newport is ranked 13th while Salisbury received 9 votes ... CNU is the lone unbeaten team in conference play at 6-0 in the CAC and holds a two-game lead at the top of the standings ... Frostburg State picked up two more CAC wins last week over Marymount and St. Mary's, led by 16.0 PPG from James Peters ... Mary Washington used a T.J. Jones jumper with .9 seconds left to top Wesley for the first time in nine all-time meetings in Dover. Jones netted 24 points in a loss to Salisbury on Saturday. Freshman guard Mark Madison averaged 14.5 PPG for the week ... Marymount sophomore D'Ondre Stockman notched two 20-plus point games this past week, as the Saints went 1-1 ... Penn State Harrisburg moved into sole possession of second place at 4-2 in the CAC with a 1-1 week that included a victory at Southern Virginia on Saturday ... Salisbury senior Adrien Straughn was the leader of a defensive effort that forced 37 turnovers in two CAC wins. Straughn led the team in each game with five steals against York and four more against Mary Washington, the two highest single-game steal totals in his career, and also averaged 15.5 PPG ... Wesley senior Wayne Lennon averaged 11.5 PPG and 9.0 RPG in two conference losses last week, falling to UMW on a buzzer-beater and dropping a decision to undefeated CNU in Newport News ... York junior Dalton Myers averaged 20.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for the Spartans in defeats to Salisbury and Marymount. For the year, Myers is tied atop the CAC in scoring with UMW's T.J. Jones at 17.2 points per game and also leads the conference in field goal percentage at 61.2% shooting.
