York Senior Dalton Myers Earns CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Award

York senior Dalton Myers earned CAC Player of the Week honors after averaging 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while shooting 53.6% from the floor and 42.9% from three-point land in a 2-0 week for the unbeaten Spartans. Myers started the week with a season-high 28 points and 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the year in the win over Frostburg State. Myers was 10-for-16 from the floor, 1-for-3 from three and 7-for-9 from the free throw line. In the road win over Marymount on Saturday, Myers notched 14 points, six rebounds, a season-high four assists and a blocked shot.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport is receiving votes in the D3hoops.com poll ... York is the lone remaining unbeaten in the CAC at 7-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play ... CNU senior Aaron McFarland led the Captains to a 2-0 week in the CAC. His 22 and 17-point efforts helped the Captains win on the road at St. Mary's and at home over Wesley. He sank seven of eight free throws in the second half Sunday as CNU held off Wesley's comeback effort ... Frostburg State junior Edwin Cole posted 31 points and 18 rebounds in two games for the Bobcats last week. He capped the week with 19 points and 10 rebounds in a narrow loss at St. Mary's. It was his fifth double-double of the season ... Junior guard Jacob Williams turned in an outstanding week for Mary Washington, scoring 10 points with five assists in a win at Southern Virginia, then scoring a career-high 16 points to go with four rebounds in a 70-66 loss to Salisbury. He also averaged four rebounds per contest ... Marymount senior Dimitri Rucker averaged 18.5 points, eight rebounds and 1.5 blocks through two league matchups last week. He posted a game-high 19 points against Salisbury to go along with eight rebounds, before following up with a team-high 18 rebounds at home against York. For the week, he shot an impressive 68.2 percent from the floor. He currently has 12 blocks this season, which ranks third in the conference ... St. Mary's sophomore Spencer Schultz led all scorers with 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting plus matching a season-best eight free throws made as Schultz paced St. Mary's in its first CAC win of the season at Frostburg State. He also added a team-best eight rebounds and season-highs of four assists and three steals as the Seahawks rallied from 22 points down for the three-point victory. This was Schultz's third 20-point game of the season ... Chad Barcikowski helped Salisbury to 2-0 week with victories over Marymount and Mary Washington. He posted a season-high 25 points against Mary Washington, hitting three three-pointers and pulling down nine rebounds, which tied a season-high ... Southern Virginia senior Cale Thornton nearly averaged a double-double with 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Knights ... Wesley's Brian Cameron set a new career-high point total against CNU with 34 points on 11-of-26 shooting from the field. Cameron knocked down four three-pointers and scored eight points from the charity stripe. Cameron also added five rebounds, two steals and two assists ... York's Dalton Myers is averaging 17.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game this season while shooting 57.5% from the floor. He moved up to 18th on the Spartans' all-time scoring list as he now has 1,130 points for his York College career.
