Gallaudet University men's and women's swimming coach Bill Snape has been named the new United States Deaf Swimming (USDA) Head Coach and will oversee the national teams at the 2011 World Deaf Swimming Championships in Lisbon, Portugal, and the 2013 Summer Deaflympic Games in Athens, Greece.

The University of Mary Washington swim teams closed the NCAA Division III National Championships in fine style, gaining two more All-America performances on Saturday. Junior Sarah Crockett finished 11th in the 200 yard backstroke at 2:04.64, and the women's 400 yard free relay took 12th at 3:30.95.

The University of Mary Washington women's swim team has won all 19 Capital Athletic Conference championships since the inception of the conference in 1991. The UMW men's swim team has won 15 championships in the 18-year history of the CAC, including nine straight. The Eagles are the favorite to extend those streaks when the 2010 CAC Championship is held Feb. 12-14 at St. Mary's College, Md.
