The York College men's and women's basketball teams took a pledge to help in the fight against cancer this season. All together, the teams raised a total of $9,062. The Spartan women collected $2,300 during their "Play 4 Kay" Day. The proceeds from the game went to the Kay Yow Cancer Foundation.

The Jostens Trophy is awarded to an outstanding Division III men’s and women’s basketball player who excels on the floor, in the classroom and in the community.

Marymount University’s women’s basketball team fell 56-50 to host Christopher Newport in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night. The Saints close out the season 24-5 overall after making their 17th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Tynisha Parks led the Saints with 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting to go with six rebounds and four steals. Kievanna Lacey added 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting and chipped in three steals.

Head coach Ashlee Courter earned her 100th career victory with the win as the Saints advance to face the winner of Christopher Newport and Guilford in the second round on Saturday.

Marymount University senior guard Katelyn Fischer was named Capital One Division III First Team Academic All-America®, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Tuesday. Fischer is the second Saint in school history to garner Academic All-America honors and the only one to earn first team honors.
