York Sophomore Jayme Verman and Salisbury Sophomore Kieran Kelleher Named CAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

YORK, Pa. -- York sophomore Jayme Verman and Salisbury sophomore Kieran Kelleher were honored as the CAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for March 23 , 2015.  

Offensive Player of the Week

York sophomore Jayme Verman was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after posting 12 points on four goals and eight assists in a pair of wins for the Spartans, including a 16-7 triumph over No. 16 Dickinson. Verman tallied a career-high nine points with three goals and six assists in the win over Dickinson, and also collected three ground balls, a draw control and three caused turnovers in the decisive win. On Saturday, she registered a goal and two assists in less than a half of playing time in the 17-1 CAC win over Wesley. Verman added a ground ball and two draw controls in the victory over the Wolverines. 

Defensive Player of the Week

Salisbury sophomore Kieran Kelleher was selected as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Sea Gulls to a 3-0 record last week that included a victory over No. 2 Cortland State. In wins over Brockport State and Southern Virginia, Kelleher led a back line that allowed just four goals between the two contests. Against Cortland State, she recorded game-highs of three ground balls and three caused turnovers. with Cortland State just one goal away from tying the game, 9-8, Kelleher made a big stop just in front of the crease to force a turnover and send the ball the other way which transitioned into a goal for the Sea Gulls.

Jessica Jones helped Frostburg State to a 2-1 week with a complete stat sheet; three goals, seven draw controls, eight caused turnovers and two ground balls ... Mary Washington senior Corinne Wiederkehr scored eight goals and added an assist this week for UMW.
