YORK, Pa. -- Frostburg State sophomore Haley Dalphon and Christopher Newport junior Danielle Pratt were named the CAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week for Sept. 26, 2016. 

Offensive Player of the Week

Frostburg State sophomore Haley Dalphon was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after registering a hat trick in the Bobcats' 4-2 conference-opening win over Wesley. All three of Dalphon's goals came in the second half as Frostburg State trailed 1-0 at the intermission. 

Defensive Player of the Week

Christopher Newport junior Danielle Pratt was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the CNU defense secure two shutouts this week from her center back position. Pratt and the Captains' defense limited opponents to just nine shots, with only five on-goal in two games. Pratt also added a goal against York in the CAC opener, becoming the 10th different goal scorer of the season for CNU.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport received votes in the Sept. 20 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) rankings ... CAC play opened up on Saturday, with CNU, Frostburg State, Mary Washington, St. Mary's, and Salisbury posting wins ... Another full slate of CAC action is set for next Saturday ... Christopher Newport's Victoria Perry factored into three of the Captains' seven goals this week, and registered her 14th career game-winning goal, tied for the most all-time at CNU. Her assist against the Rutgers-Newark also moved her into a tie for first all-time in career helpers (24). She is now in second all-time in career points, just 11 shy of the record. The Captains fell out of the rankings but bounced back with three straight wins and improved to 7-1-0. CNU has registered multiple goals in six of their eight games this season while allowing just three total goals for a 0.38 GAA ... Mary Washington dropped a 2-1 decision at Catholic before blanking Marymount in the CAC opener. Senior Maryfay Jackson scored the game-winner in the second half for the Eagles ... Marymount went 1-1 last week with a 7-1 victory over Notre Dame (Md.) and a 1-0 loss to Mary Washington. Goalkeeper Sydney Schultz played the full 180 minutes with a 1.00 GAA, including 11 saves vs. UMW. Chloe McAuliffe pieced together a career day for the Saints against Notre Dame, posting seven points off her first collegiate hat trick and an assist ... Penn State Harrisburg goalkeeper Kayla Arnold recorded 16 saves in the two games this week ... St. Mary's Gillian Sawyer scored two of the Seahawks four goals in a 4-0 win over Penn State Harrisburg in the CAC opener. Sawyer is now just two points away from claiming the title as the school's all-time points leader. Following her four-point performance on Saturday, she now has 92 career points (41 goals, 10 assists). The current record holder, Christa Childers '02, finished her career with 93 points (36 goals, 21 assists) ... Salisbury's Ruthie Lucas scored the only goal in a 1-0 CAC-opening victory against Southern Virginia on Saturday ... Wesley sophomore Janiah Moore scored twice against Frostburg State. Moore moved into Wesley's top-10 all-time goal scorers with her 16th and 17th career tallies. Goalkeeper Sam Brannigan notched a career-high 13 saves in a double-overtime shutout against Hood.
