Salisbury Senior Katie Youlios Earns CAC Women's Tennis Weekly Honor

YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury senior Katie Youlios was named the CAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for April 7, 2015.

Salisbury senior Katie Youlios was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after winning both of her matches in impressive fashion in the Sea Gulls 6-3 victory over Washington College. Youlios began the day by teaming with Natalie Savage for a quick, 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles against the 14th-ranked squad in the Atlantic South region. She then posted a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles to seal the win for the Sea Gulls.

Four CAC teams remain unbeaten in conference play, as Christopher Newport, Mary Washington, St. Mary's and Salisbury are all 4-0 in the CAC ... In the March 26 ITA National Rankings, Mary Washington moved up three spots to No. 20 ... Three CAC teams are in the top-10 of the Atlantic South Regional Rankings, Mary Washington (No. 6), Christopher Newport (No. 7) and Salisbury (No. 8) ... Five CAC players are ranked in the Atlantic South Singles Rankings - UMW's Shelby Harris (No. 11), Salisbury's Natalie Savage (No. 13), CNU's McKinney Harwood (No. 14), UMW's Alex Ritter (No. 16) and UMW's Caroline Mosberg (No. 24) ... In doubles, UMW's Harris and Kait Brogan (No. 8), Salisbury's Savage & Katie Youlios (No. 9), and CNU's Harwood and Katie Carlson (No. 11) in ranked regionally ... Mary Washington freshman Kait Brogan scored a pair of singles wins this weekend for the 20th-ranked Eagles. She won at four singles in straight sets against Penn State Harrisburg on Friday, and then gained UMW's lone point in an 8-1 loss to No. 6 Carnegie Mellon on Saturday with a 7-5, 6-2 win at five singles ... Melissa Barall was St. Mary's lone winner in the road loss at Washington College. Barall is now 14-1 overall on the season, including a 12-0 dual match record ... Southern Virginia's Micah Roberts went 4-0 last week with singles and doubles wins against York and Hood.
