Mary Washington freshman Rachel Summers was named the CAC Player of the Week for the second straight week after going undefeated in singles and doubles play last week for the 17th-ranked Eagles. Summers went 3-0 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles, including a pair of victories in a 5-4 loss to 12th-ranked Carnegie Mellon. The Eagles defeated York and Penn State Harrisburg, moving them to 6-0 in conference play and locking up the top seed in the CAC Tournament.

Mary Washington freshman Rachel Summers secured CAC Player of the Week honors after going 3-0 in both singles and doubles last weekend, including the match-clinching point in a 5-4 upset win over No. 11 Washington & Lee. Summers and the 17th-ranked Eagles topped Southern Virginia, No. 35 TCNJ, Frostburg State, and Washington & Lee. In singles, Summers won at No. 3 singles over Southern Virginia and No. 4 singles against TCNJ and Washington & Lee. She also teamed with Ashley Barrow to gain a win at No. 1 doubles against Southern Virginia and at No. 2 against TCNJ and Washington & Lee.

Salisbury freshman Jordan Schaefer was chosen as the CAC Player of the Week after going 6-0 last week in a 2-1 week for the Sea Gulls. Schaefer was a perfect 3-0 in singles matches at the No. 5 position, posting straight-set victories against Occidental and Whittier and a three-set triumph against 40th-ranked Oberlin. In doubles, she teamed with Claudia Lohn for a trio of victories at the No. 2 spot.

Christopher Newport freshman Johanna Ranta-aho secured CAC Player of the Week honors after posting a 3-1 record in both singles and doubles last week for the Captains. Ranta-aho's only losses of the week came against fifth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. She helped CNU pick up wins over Chapman, Caltech, and No. 24 Redlands with her victories at No. 2 singles and doubles. She paired with Kate Huck in doubles, earning an 8-0 win at Chapman, an 8-3 win at Caltech, and an 8-2 win at Redlands. In singles, Ranta-aho suffered her only loss to 14th-ranked Catherine Allen (CMS), while picking up wins against Nicole Fouts (6-0, 6-1) from Chapman, Julia Reisler (6-1, 6-0) from Caltech, and Emily Murnin (2-6, 6-4, 6-2) from Redlands.

St. Mary's junior Savannah Bergen was honored as the CAC Player of the Week after posting a 4-0 week in a 1-1 week for St. Mary's. Bergen teamed up with Claire Bodine for a pair of No. 3 doubles victories against Harford Community College, 9-7, and No. 40 Washington College, 8-3. Against HCC, Bergen/Bodine were down 3-6 before rallying back for the 9-7 win. Bergen then notched wins at No. 6 singles, posting a straight set win vs. Harford's Rachel Hall and winning 8-1 over Washington's Mariah Thomas.

Mary Washington junior Kait Brogan was named the CAC Player of the Week for the second time in 2016-17 after leading the 15th-ranked Eagles to a 4-0 start to the spring season. Brogan boasts a 3-0 mark at No. 1 singles and a 4-0 record at No. 1 doubles this spring. She has captured each of her three singles wins in straight sets, and she and doubles partner Taylor Diffley have yet to lose more than two games in a doubles matchup this spring. The Eagles have topped Meredith, Methodist, Franklin & Marshall, and Salisbury.

Brogan defeated Danielle Thompson of Morgan State, 6-4, 6-7 (1), 10-5, in the finals after downing teammate Danielle Mirabella, 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 in the semifinals.
