Christopher Newport Junior Lydia Cromwell and Mary Washington Junior Taylor Cockerille Named CAC Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport junior Lydia Cromwell and Mary Washington junior Taylor Cockerille were selected as the CAC Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for March 25, 2015.

Christopher Newport junior Lydia Cromwell was named the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after finishing second among all competitors and first among Division III entrants in the 3000-meter steeplechase during the Tribe Invitational on Saturday. She posted a time of 11:53.91 in the event, which ranks 15th in the nation and fifth in CNU history.

Mary Washington junior Taylor Cockerille earned CAC Field Athlete of the Week honors after winning both the shot put and discus at the Battleground Relays. She won the shot put with a throw of 38'-11", and took top honors in the discus with a throw of 133'-6". Both of Cockerille's marks rank atop the CAC, while her discus throw is currently seventh in the nation.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE
Five of the seven CAC track & field teams have opened up their outdoor campaigns ... Frostburg State's Zoe Harris tossed an ECAC-qualifying throw in the javelin of 118'-8" as the Bobcats opened their outdoor campaign at the CalU Early Bird Invitational ... Mary Washington's Janel Moore finished first in the 100 meters at the Battleground Relays, and was part of three winning relays, as the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400 relays all finished in first place ... Salisbury's Chanel Beaudoin led the track events for the Sea Gulls at the UNC-Wilmington Invitational, taking two top-10 finishes. Paige DeMent led Salisbury in the field events, taking sixth in the hammer throw and seventh in the shot put ... York's Ericka Quenzer set a school record in the 100-meter hurdles at 16.28, surpassing the previous mark of 16.37 set in 2005. Quenzer also claimed first in the high jump with a height of 4' 9.75" and puts her in a tie for first in the conference.
